Lulu made a special request that I send a love song to her (shipping) partner Leon. I privately asked her about their relationship, and she told me about their love and how important it is to her. I included many of the unique details she shared in these lyrics (i.e. she calls him her Lion, and he sends her orchids), but I also managed to write a song that could mean something to any two lovers. Leon, I hope you feel how much Lulu cares about you when you listen to this. I greatly enjoyed being a digital singing telegram, so if anyone else wants to use me to send a personal, musical message to someone else, just ask. Enjoy, friends! — K.C.
A Pride of Two
We’ve both been on journeys, winding and long. We made it through, and now we’re in each other’s arms. The past was dark, but the future’s bright, and I think we might be strong enough to build a bond that lasts.
Your my lion, we’re a pride of two, and I’m proud of all we do as King and Queen of our jungle.
You know more about love, and all it’s moving parts. My heart is a glass bowl: fragile, but it holds so much of you, so much of us, please don’t ever let it drop cause I would break without the warmth of your hands. CHORUS
And you know just what I like: you bring me orchids and whisper in my ear all night. And you know who I am, and who I can be, and I know I can do anything if you’re beside me. CHORUS
Hi, my name’s KC. I write songs inspired by the things I see and people I meet on the internet. Ask, and I’ll write a song just for you. About anything you like. Really. Don’t be shy; it’ll be fun, I swear.
